When city centers of commercial real estate became tediously costly, secondary business districts developed in the suburbs. Nariman Point gives way to the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, and even to the Andheri stretch. Within a few years, Thane is expected to be a Commercial Business District. The business district moved from New Delhi to Secondary Business Districts such as Nehru Place and Bhikaji Cama Place in Delhi, and now to suburban business districts such as Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad.
Suburbs are selected due to proximity to the office, consumer budget housing and decent access, close schools and hospitals, and therefore a healthier lifestyle. If the developers have the real market in mind, there is a strong opportunity. For example, Delhi suburbs Noida and Ghaziabad have picked up momentum when it comes to being the home buyers’ favorite spot. This is due essentially to the availability of affordable middle and upper middle-class homes in these two areas.
